He was predeceased by: his parents, James Covey and Anne Covey (Shea); his wife Masie; and his siblings, Jim, Tom, Frank and Helen.
He is survived by: his children, Judy Covey Levy (Keith), Rose Bay, Lindia (Kim Smith), Garnet, Cornwall, Gary Bridgewater (Karen) and Danny (Trudy); his siblings, Mary Norten, Vincent Covey of Halifax and John Kane of Halifax; and his grandchildren, Stephanie, Melissa, Sonja-Lee, Sirena, Amy and Adam. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
