He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arthur Noble Burgess and Mary Gertrude (DeWolfe); his children, Lawrence Burgess, Lizabeth Keim (Libby) of Red Deer, Margaret Bezel of Yorkton and Arthur Burgess of Red Deer; his grandchildren, Lance, Nathan, Erin, Tammy and Sarah; his great grandchildren, Will, Alex, Ryan, Max, Aden, Ellie, Lucas, Kyler and Addison; and his wife Ellen Burgess (Purcell).
He asked that, in lieu of gifts or flowers, memorial donations be given to the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 24) or the Roman Catholic Church.
