He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Dicks and Muriel Dicks (May); his sisters, Clara and Ellen; and his sons-in-law, Andrew Crouse and Bruce McCarthy.

He is survived by: his children, Ralph Dicks (Gail), Ellen McCarthy, Midville Branch, Joseph Dicks (Shirley) and Lower Branch; his grandchildren, Andrea Whalen (Victor), Jeffrey Crouse, Daniel Wile (Michelle), Adam Dicks (Danica), Lucas Dicks (Alyssa), Chris Cruickshank (Ashley) and Andrew Comeau; his great grandchildren, Drew, Madison, Emma, Ethan, Wesley, Shianne and Benjamin; and his brother Chesley Dicks (Josephine). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
