He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ernest Daniel Knickle and Hilda Rhoda Thompson; and his siblings, Byron, Arthur, Walter, Harry, Mildred, Marguerite and Blanche.

He is survived by: his wife Alice Knickle (Lohnes); his children, Arnold Knickle Jr. (Heather Wolfe), Elizabeth Mosher (Arnold), Darrell Knickle (Rosalie) and Heather Knickle (Jay Haas); and his grandchildren, Nicole Sperry (Chad), Ryan Mosher, Scott Mosher (Cindy), Donald Gardner (Florence), Hope Gardner (Steve), Arthur Gardner (Sarah), Fabian Haas and Jonathan Haas. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
