He was predeceased by: his brother Allan (Ellie Berrigan Theriault). He is survived by: his wife Shelley Theriault (Spurr) of Perotte; his son Mitchell (Jessica Walker) of Lequille; his parents, Barbara and Donald of Annapolis; his siblings, Wayne Elmsdale (Karen Theriault) and Cathy Theriault Chalmers (Bridgetown); his siblings-in-law, Angela (John Buckler) of West Dalhousie, Deanna Oliver (Barry Oliver) of Parkers Cove and Darryl Spurr (Tara Spurr) of Cole Harbour; and his grandchildren, Haley and Daneka (Nevaya). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand-nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers for the family if people would like to make a contribution, they may make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in honor of Doug.
