She was predeceased by: her parents, William Phelan and Nancy Phelan (Poole) of Clarence, N. S.. She is survived by: her close friend Richard Durling; her children, Carla MacAleese (Gary Laird) and Travis MacAleese (Lindsay Downie); her stepdaughter Krista Hauschild (Rick); her grandchildren, Casey and Layton MacAleese; her sister Patricia Phelan (Mike Giffin); her nieces and nephews, Katelyn Anderson (Ryan), Thomas, Kylah Anderson, Ryan Boyd (Amanda) and Oliver Boyd; and her friend Rosalie Gale.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Lawrencetown Consolidated School Breakfast Program or the Clarence 4-H Club.
