He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Mader and Ann Mader (Firth); his brother George; his son Larry; and his granddaughter Holly Spears.

He is survived by: his wife Athena Mader (Devine); his children, Charlotte Anne Carter (Ben), Sandra Cox (Ron), Robert Mader (Susan) and Kathryn Smith (Kirby); and his brother Gary Mader. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society or to Bridgetown Baptist Church.
