He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Rice and Irene Rice (Ramsey); his wife Helen; and his great grandchild Tyler. He is survived by: his children, Michael A. (Trish) of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Kent D. (Leah) of Sherwood Park, Alberta and Deborah L.; his grandchildren, Heather (Wayne), Kyle (Meagan) and Jordan (Brittany); his great grandchildren, Demi (Eli), Rhett, Ryken and Ford; and his great great grandchildren, Bradley, Ryleigh and Kyleigh.
