He is survived by: his children, Bobby MacLean and Janet VanSchaick (Joe); his grandchildren, Maggie Dawson (Ryan), Krista Speare (Peter), Jenny McGowan (Eric), Joe VanSchaick (LeighAnn) and Jakob VanSchaick (Danielle); his great grandchildren, Teddy, Fritz, Duke Dawson, Charlotte, Gabby, Evvy Speare, Josie, Remy and Foster McGowan; his sister-in-law Sophie King; his nieces, Edna, Marlene, Loretta and Mary; and his nephew Kelvin.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Allen's name may be made to Cape Breton Cancer Centre or St. James Church Cemetery fund.
