It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Doreen Maude Smith of Bible Hill, Nova Scotia, who passed away, on June 25, 2021. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Burton Gorrie and Ida Gorrie (Vey); her husband Elbert Alonzo Smith; her siblings, Carl, Jeanne and Bette; and her son-in-law Stephen Gullon.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Vey Gullon and Elbert Dana Smith; her brother Rev. Robert Gorrie (Dianne) of Naomi, BC; her grandchildren, Jaclyn MacPherson (James), Gregory Gullon (Lisa) and Dana Craig Smith (Stephanie Wesley); and her great grandchildren, Alex Gullon, Seth MacPherson and Hailey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A graveside service and interment will be held 2 pm Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at the Bible Hill Cemetery, 41 Warren Drive Bible Hill, with April Hart officiating. (Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a maximum of 250 people can attend the graveside service. Masks must be worn and physical distancing will apply.) Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro.
No flowers by request. Donations in Doreen's memory may be made to St. David's United Church Bible Hill.
