He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Stoddart and Bessie Stoddart (Lutz); and his brother-in-law Anthony Foster. He is survived by: his wife JoAnne (Beattie); his children, Timothy Stoddart (Jennifer) and Angela Thomas (Jerome); and his sisters, Joyce Stoddart, Ruth Foster and Louise Freeman (Lawrence). He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
