He was predeceased by: his parents, James Fredericks and Mida Fredericks (Hiltz); his wife Doreen; and his siblings, Nathan (Dora), Clara Coleman (Dick), Agnes Morton (Harry) and Jenny Moody.

He is survived by: his children, Patricia Hunter (Wayne), Anthony "Tony" (Janet) and Adrian (Bonnie); the mother of his children Eleanor Ward (Coleman); his son Black Rock; his siblings, Edith Travis (Granville), Ruth MacLean (Scott) and Irving Fredericks (Connie); and his grandchildren, Sarah, Stephanie, David, Kristy Ann, Cody, Jasmine, Nicholas, Samantha, Tyler and Steven. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
