He is survived by: his children, Linda O'Flaherty (John Stratigeas) of Burlington, ON and Allan O'Flaherty (Andrea Parliament) of Burlington, ON; his brothers, Ron O'Flaherty (Jackie) and Dan O'Flaherty (Lynda); his grandsons, Matthew, Marshall Ilcio of Toronto, ON and Taylor O'Flaherty of Victoria, BC; his niece Shani Pearson; his nephews, Sean O'Flaherty, Ryan O'Flaherty (Amy), Michael O'Flaherty Halifax (Lisa Cameron), Jeff O'Flaherty (Sara) and Todd Pearson Ottawa (Deb); and his aunt Sister Virginia Deal (SC).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
