He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Palmer Shay and Marjorie Varian Shay (Brooks); his wife Betty Lou; and his siblings, Earle (Margaret), Vernon (Judy), Theadore, Wilford, George, Marion, Audrey, Marjorie and Kathleen.
He is survived by: his daughter Lisa Shay Avolese (Salvatore); his sister Freda Lawrence (John); his granddaughters, Danielle (Jordan) and Kristen; and his stepgrandchildren, Vittoria and Joseph.
