He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Alderdice and Ruby Alderdice (Simons); his brothers, Vernon (Mona) and Harvey (Colleen); and his brothers-in-law, Ron Rumble and Bob Sager.

He is survived by: his wife Linda (Corkum); his former spouse Detta (Ridd); his children, Cindy Taylor (Paul), Ian Alderdice (Sandra) and Melissa Alderdice (Alex Blevin); his stepsons, Ivan Howard (Lori) and Jeff Howard (Lara Kays); his grandchildren, Riley, Sarah, Andrew, Megan, Zavier and Leo; his stepgrandchildren, Ava, Jake, Brooke, Katie, Eric, Kyla and Andre; and his siblings, Jean Rumble, Shirley Murray (Gary), Kay Taylor (Wayne), Karyn Lougheed (Art), Lynda Sager, Janice Graham and Kenneth (Jane). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
