He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick George Porter and Lottie Hope (Coombs); his brothers, Elmer, Darrell and Willis; and his nephews, Martin Porter and Brent Porter.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce (Potter); his daughter Rebecca Santanna of Alberta; his grandchildren, Jesse Porter of Bear River, Emily Freeman of Alberta and Willis Freeman of Alberta; his brother Earl Porter (Ruby) of Bridgetown; and his nieces and nephews, Doris Bugley (Charles) of Amherst, Joan Young (Frank), Sylvia Hinds (Gilbert) of Nictaux, Wayne Porter of Bear River, Jane Porter and Bear River.
