He was predeceased by: his mother Elsie Eileen (Francis); his former wife Dale Elaine Sears; his wife Lorna Mae Chetwynd; and his siblings, Ronald and Geveva (Marg).
He is survived by: his father William Coleman Blades; his children, Calvin Jr. Blades (Jennie), Lisa Blades (Tom Goodwin), Clayton Blades, Linda Blades (Dennis Jones) and Maurice Blades (Melissa); his grandchildren, CJ Blades (Calvin James), Tyler Penney (Vanessa), Devin Penney (Tessa), Lacey Penney, Savana Penney, Telena Blades and Kenzie Blades; his great grandchildren, Orian, Shyanne, Ally, Noan, Jaylee, Hunter and Maddison; and his siblings, Rodney Blades and Mary Blades.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, October 26th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the H. M. Huskilson's Funeral Home (2821 Nova Scotia Trunk 3, Barrington, NS B0W1E0). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the H. M. Huskilson's Memorial Chapel (Barrington, NS).
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Riverdale Cemetery.
