She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilfred Newell and Mariah Newell (Nickerson); and her siblings, Cecil, Marjorie, Stella, Betty and Glenna.

She is survived by: her children, Charles of Shag Harbour and Dale of Yarmouth; her grandsons, Jason and Michael; and her great grandchildren, Tara-Lynne, Keira and Kaitlyn. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
