He was predeceased by: his parents, Addie Louise (Smith) and Edward "Leslie" Atkinson; his close friend Violet Smith; his brothers, Marshal, Harold, Clinton, Addison, Francis, Sheldon, Percy, Ronald and Leslie; his half-brother Vincent Worthen; and his sister Isaline.

He is survived by: his daughters, Bonnie Atkinson and Bernadine Babin (John); his grandchildren, Luke, Rebecca and Jake; his great grandchildren, Noah, Everleigh and Scarlet; and his sisters, Ruby and Dolly.
