She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Murphy and Clara Murphy (Strapp); her husband Dr. Edmond Ryan; her siblings, Gerald Murphy, Michael Murphy, Margaret Murphy, Marion McCarthy (Murphy) and Patrick Murphy; and her siblings-in-law, Rev. Michael Ryan, James Ryan, Nicholas Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Joan Ryan and Catherine Murphy.
She is survived by: her daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Joiner (Ron), Michelle (Ottawa) and Conor (Jean Ann) of Sydney, N. S.; her grandchildren, Meghan, Aislinn, Braeden Joiner, Lenayah and Michaela Ryan; her great grandchild Olivia; her sister-in-law Ila Murphy (Theresa Ryan); and her niece Anne Murphy (Chester). She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Donations in Madeline's memory may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society of Holy Family Parish in Amherst, NS.
