He was predeceased by: his parents, George Patrick and Liola Shannon Sonny (McDonald); and his sisters, Helen Shannon and Phyllis McDonald. He is survived by: his wife Aileen Isobel Shannon (Lucas); his stepdaughters, Carrie Anne Markey and Cherri Lynn Markey; his son Peter Shannon (Estelle) of Moncton, NB; his grandchildren, Samantha, Amanda, Melissa, Christopher, Derrick, Devan, Jesse and Trae; his great grandchildren, Hailee, Lucca, Alexa, Carter, Dawson, Madison, Delilah and Vitani; his sisters, Pearl LeBlanc (Raymond) and Helen Jean; and his sisters-in-law, Alice Giles (Marshall) and Judi MacAskill (Grant).
In compliance with Nova Scotia's COVID-19 public health regulations, social distancing, proof of double vaccination with a government issued ID must be shown to attend the visitation or funeral.
