He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Samson and Mary Elizabeth Samson (Boudreau); his wife Marilyn Samson (Cole); his parents-in-law, Donald and Emily Cole; his siblings, Blandine David (Amadee), Delta Fraser (Anthony), Kathleen Samson (Leo) and Anthony Samson; and his siblings-in-law, Emma Cole, Rose Cole, Marie Cole, Debbie Cole, Donald Jr. Cole (Elizabeth), Jerry Cole, Cornelius Marchand and Don Perry.

He is survived by: his children, Donald (Jackie), Grandique Rd, Glen (Rose) and Patrick (Rosemary); his grandchildren, Patti (Arthur), Jesse (Angie), Shannon and Jamie; his stepgrandchildren, Scott (Danielle), Leonard Harris, Dennis Delorey (Becca), Shyloe Delorey and Dustin Delorey (Harley); his great grandchildren, Anastasia, William, Callie and Finley; his sisters, Jacqueline Marchand of Port Hawkesbury, Viola Perry of Port Hawkesbury and Laura Samson (Cletus); his sisters-in-law, Sylvia Samson of Sydney, Marg Langlois (Dave) of Sydney and Diane Hanratty (Allan) of Sydney; his friend Juilette DeYoung (Pumpkin); and his caregivers, Ashley, Connie, Jessica, Fallen, Kayla, Meg, Lisa T., Yvonne, Hatti, Lorena, Felicia and Susan. He is also survived by brother-in-laws.

It is requested that face masks be worn for the visitation and funeral mass.

Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society, St. Anne's Centre or to the Star of the Sea Cemetery.
