Thomas Barry Gillis Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Barry Gillis of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, who passed away on November 16, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Gillis and Nora Gillis (Harte); his siblings, Regina, Mary, Wilma, Florence and Father Joe Gillis; and his brothers-in-law, Charlie MacDougall, Leroy MacDonald, Lloyd Balah (Wilma) and Allan Gillis.

He is survived by: his children, Edwin Barry (Lisa), Sean (Carla), Thea Campbell (Mark) and Yellowknife; his grandchildren, Chad (Rachel), Mary (Connor), Grace, Nate, Alli, Seanie and Mairin; his great grandchildren, Nora and Elise; his family, Rosaire Young (John), Ron Gillis (Nita), Bernadette MacDougall and Jeannie Schweizer (Urs); his in-laws, Murdock, Ida, Gerald, Paul, Owen, Sonny, Yvonne, Mick, Judy, Jimmy Matheson, John Young and John Tennant; his cousin Eugenie Matheson; and his wife Cammy.

Memorial donations to the North Sydney Food Bank would be appreciated, as Barry was a long-time volunteer.
