Age 68, of Antigonish passed away in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish on August 20, 2022.
Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Alex J. and Mary (Floyd) MacDonald.
Marian was a graduate of St. F.X. University. She was a well loved and respected teacher in Antigonish for forty plus years, having taught at both MacPherson Elementary and Antigonish Education Centre. She served as a Spiritual Care Volunteer at St. Martha's Hospital and Bethany Motherhouse. Being an accomplished drummer, with Grade Primary Status, Marian was a valued member of the Antigonish Pipe Band. She especially enjoyed her trips to Scotland with her band mates and to Ontario to visit her sister. Marian enjoyed spending time with her friends, crocheting, knitting and particularly quilting. She will be greatly missed by many. There wasn't a, person in town who hasn't had her, biscuits.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; sons: Matthew, David, Andrew and daughter, Katie all of Antigonish; sisters: Margaret MacDonald, Kingston, ON; Cathy McKenna, Fort McMurray.
Visitation in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street on Tuesday, August 23rd, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held in St. Ninian Cathedral on Wednesday at 10:00 am with Reverend Donald MacGillivray presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
