He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Armstrong and Annie Armstrong (Chisholm); and his siblings, Rita Chisholm, Donnie Armstrong, Kevin Armstrong, Helen Brophy and Ann Mattie.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Armstrong (Malcolm); his children, Lauchlin Jr. (Shelly), Daniel Armstrong, Karen Armstrong (Dwayne) and George Armstrong (Samantha); his grandchildren, Christopher, Madison, Desiree, Gavin, Jacob and Jax; his great grandchildren, Bradley, Logan and Ryan; and his siblings, Billie and Betty. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
