He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wells and Catherine Wells (Crewe); his son Whitney; and his sisters, Tina Marie, Mary MacDonald and Rose DeWolfe.

He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Myatt; his sons, Melvin Wells of Alberta, Daniel Wells (Tanya) of Alberta, Trevor Wells (Taylor) of Alberta and John David Wells (Heather) of Alberta; his siblings, Sadie Stewart, Theresa MacDonald (Joe) and Leonard Wells; his goddaughter Nicole DeWolfe; and his grandchildren, Christine, Daniel, Michael of Jacob, LJ, Savannah Wells and Johnathon Qualizza. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
