He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Gavel and Mildred Gavel; his siblings, Edward (Tootsie), Arnold (Helen), John (Carolyn) and Carroll; and his aunts and uncles, Helena Brow, Althena Brow of Cape Jack, Edward, Emmanuel, Hubert, Raymond and Cyril of Havre Boucher, NS..

He is survived by: his wife Michelle (Kevin); his grandson Owen; his siblings, Budd (Mae), Allister (Renate), Jane, Alberta, Cathy (Bernie), Charles (Eileen), Brenda (Laurel), Leo (Cindy) and Mary Helene (Dave) of Saskatchewan; and his aunts, Martha DeCoste (Bernard) and Leona Brow. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and cousins.
