With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James J. Hanifen (Antigonish, Nova Scotia), who passed away on December 17, 2021 at the age of 106. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James J. Hanifen to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Hanifen and Laura Hanifen (Walsh); his wife Pat; his sisters, Jeannette, Marguerite and Florence; his grandsons, Shawn and Peter; and his siblings-in-law, Marie, Bill, Tom, Larry and Everett.
He is survived by: his daughters, Colleen Hanifen and Martha Durant; his granddaughters, Lisa Schliwa (White) and Karen White; and his great grandchildren, Bailey, Ryan, Daniel, Alex, Elizabeth and Jacob. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private visitation will be held by invitation.
