He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. "Jack" MacFarlane and Alice B. MacFarlane (McDaniel); and his siblings, Harold (Margaret Ann), Gerald (Libby) and Margaret.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his sons, Ian, Steven and Daniel; and his sister Sister Mary. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
