It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frances Lillian Carnell (Antigonish, Nova Scotia), born in St John's, Newfoundland, who passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Barnes and Jessie Barnes; her sister Sandra Barnes; her mother-in-law Alyce Carnell; her brothers-in-law, Tom Kavanagh, Jerry Murphy and Bernard Carnell; and her friends, Shirley MacDonald-Harris and Gloria Andrews-Dorey.

She is survived by: her daughter Tina; her grandson Zachary; her siblings, Ruby Kavanagh (Tom), Art Barnes (Jill) of St Johns, Morris Barnes (Dianne) of St Johns and David Barnes (Marion) of Rushoon, Newfoundland; her siblings-in-law, Margaret Yagilashek (Len) of Ontario, Shelley Carnell (Bernard) of Ontario, Anne Marie MacNeil (Ed) of Regina, Saskatchewan, Therese MacGillivray (Raymond), Bernadette MacDonald and Michael Carnell (Margaret) of Antigonish; and her friend Annie Smith.
