He was predeceased by: his parents, Angus Cameron and Mary Cameron (Chisholm); and his children, Mark and Carrie Ann. He is survived by: his wife Mary Alice Cameron (Pelerine); and his sisters, Joan (Anthony Quick) and Marie (Tom Meagher) of Mulgrave, NS. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

Don practiced Electrical Engineering in several provinces during his career and received a Certificate of Fellowship from Engineers Canada in 2008 for his exceptional contributions to the profession in Canada.
