She was predeceased by: her husband Edward Whalen; her parents, Mary MacMillan and Walter James "Wally" MacMillan; her brother Jimmy MacMillan; her mother-in-law Gertrude Whalen; and her sisters-in-law, Donna MacPherson and Ruby LeBlanc.
She is survived by: her children, Jonathan, Brandon of California, Logan of Oregon and Taylor; her siblings, Dorothy MacMillan of Moncton, Walena Chisholm of Antigonish, Rosalie MacDonald (Tony) of Antigonish, Marlene Gillis (Dave) of Antigonish, Anita Bennett (Emerson) of Antigonish, Karen-Ann Pringle of Antigonish, Donna MacGillivray (Chris) of Antigonish and Bernard Toronto (Danny Thompson); her sisters-in-law, Irene Springall, Agnes MacLean (Norman), Lilly Fougere (Alfie) and Margie Burke (Pius); and her husband Chris. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
