He was predeceased by: his parents, Merville Sears and Lillian Sears (Crossman); and his siblings, Forrest, Ernie, Mildred Richardson and Betty Trenholm.

He is survived by: his wife Louise; his children, Terry (Brenda MacGregor), Brenda Redgers (David), Burlington, Debbie Sears and Sackville; his grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda, Michael, Tina and Laura; his great grandchildren, Ashley, Kai and Caden; and his great great grandchild Gabrielle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
