William Arnold Smith Jr. Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Arnold Smith Jr. (Amherst, Nova Scotia), who passed away on January 5, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arnold and Pauline Hazel Smith (Fillmore); his wife Barbara Smith (Baxter); his grandparents, Richea Fillmore (Bertha) and Nal Smith (Lillie); his parents-in-law, Ron and Myrtle Baxter; his siblings, Brenda Mahaney, Jean Smith, Stewart Smith and Ross Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Gerald Clarke, Linda Finley and Charlene Bowser.

He is survived by: his son Scott Barry Smith (Sylvie Labossiere); his grandsons, Maxime and Benjamin Smith of Pinawa, Manitoba; his daughter Tricia Lee Smith of Vermilion, Alberta; his sisters, Hazel Mahaney (Paul) of Warren, Linda Clarke of Sussex Corner, NB and Nancy Smith; his sisters-in-law, Susan Smith of Amherst, Beverley Smith of Truemanville and Gayle Gillespie (Greg) of Bedford, NS; his brother Brian Smith (Gretchen) of Shinimicas; and his brothers-in-law, Layton Finley of Truemanville, NS and Eugene Baxter (Elsie) of Amherst Head, NS. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arnold has asked that donations in his memory be made to the Shinimicas Cemetery Society, the Kidney Foundation, Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
