She was predeceased by: her parent Delbert McWhirter; her sisters, Phyllis Bailey (Franklyn) and Laura Merriam (Lloyd); and also Joyce (Chesley Green). She is survived by: her parent Bessie McWhirter (Slocum); her daughters, Sandra Irving (Gordon), Bedford and Karen Downie (Bill); her grandchildren, Jason Downie, Julianna Melanson (Irving), Jacalyn MacLean (Downie) and Jeffrey Irving; and her sisters, Stella Watson and Irene McWhirter.
