He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arnold Smith Sr. and Pauline Smith (Fillmore); his siblings, Brenda Mahaney, Jean Smith and Ross; his sister-in-law Barbara Smith; his parents-in-law, Russell and Hilda Trueman; and his brother-in-law Gordon L. Trueman.

He is survived by: his wife Beverley (Trueman); his sons, Geoffrey (Karen) of Truemanville and Michael of Brantford, ON; his grandchildren, Kayla, Ava, Olivia, Owen and Shannon; his siblings, Wm Arnold, Brian (Gretchen), Hazel Mahaney (Paul), Linda Clarke (Gerald) and Nancy Smith; and his sister-in-law Susan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
