Minnie Leila Coates Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 11, 2022, at the age of 99, Minnie Leila Coates (Amherst, Nova Scotia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Minar Wood and Myrtle Wood (Brownell); her son Eugene Earl; her fiancé Bill Betts; and her siblings, Lillian Smith, Florence Sonier, Edna Card, Doris Marshall, Marguerite Hodgson, Merton, Lloyd and George.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Dixon (Jim) of Linden and Wayne Coates (Janet) of Antigonish; her grandsons, Troy Dixon, Chris (Linh Tran) and Paul Coates (Lynn Connors); her great grandchildren, Scarlet and Violet; her sister Blanche Smith of Amherst; and her sister-in-law Edie Wood of Linden. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions can be made in Minnie's memory to the First Baptist Church or the Cumberland Cancer Assistance Fund.
