She was predeceased by: her parents, Auley Clarke and Constance Clarke (Stewart); and her brothers-in-law, Robert Swetnam and Jack Atkinson. She is survived by: her husband Robert McDougall Barnes; her siblings, Joan Swetnam of Dartmouth, Jean Atkinson of Fort Lawrence, Anne Crowell (Gary) of Amherst and Garry Clarke (Vi) of Waverly, NS.; her cousin Charles Joyce (Gloria) of Brookfield; her children, Sheri Bromer (Rick) of Parrsboro, Connie Barnes Rose (Eric Rose) of Montreal, Janice Barnes (Jeff McCartney) of St and Robert Barnes; her grandchildren, Sarah Bromer (William Mericle), Jessica Bromer, Anna Rose, Carmen Rose (Kim Ho), Claire McCartney and Steven McCartney; and her great grandchildren, Arthur, Theodore and Lumi. She is also survived by many nieces and nieces and nephews.
