She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Barker and Margaret Barker (Dalton); her husband Norval Merrill; her son Robert; her granddaughter Pamela Wood; her son-in-law Ross Smith; her brother Bob Barker (Sylvia); and her siblings-in-law, Carmel Barker, Ian Hunter and Joe Hursell.

She is survived by: her daughters, Gail Embree (Gary), Patricia Firlotte, Eileen Ford (Bill) and Susan Smith; her grandchildren, Kim, Steven, Ian, Nick, Jenn and Alison; her great grandchildren, Moira, Rowan, Maddison, Cameron, Lauren, Leah, John and Nora; and her siblings, David Barker, Rene Hursell of England and Pat Hunter of England. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
