It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan Shirley O'Brien (Amherst, Nova Scotia), who passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Pitt and Florence Pitt (Wake); her husband Robert "Bob" O'Brien; her daughter Colleen Dwyer; and her brothers, Gordon and Brian.
She is survived by: her stepfather Samuel Porter; her son-in-law Larry Dwyer (Karen Chapman); her grandchildren, Larry Jr., Chelsey, Joshua (Jill), Colin and Amber; her great grandchildren, Jayce, Hudson and Colson; her sister Brenda McPhail (Ron); and her friend Ruth Dwyer (Teddy). She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10 (47 Laplanche St, Amherst, NS B4H3G9).
