He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred LeBlanc and Hilda LeBlanc (McEachern); and his siblings, Donna Cormier, Myrtle O'Brien, Lester and Douglas LeBlanc.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth of Strathcona; his children, David (Tracey) of River Hebert, NS, Beverly Brown (John McKinnon) of Amherst, NS and James Jr. (Andrea Deazley) of Amherst, NS; his grandchildren, Natalie, Danielle, Jonah and Hannah; and his siblings, Marion Daborn (Reg), Helen Richards, Fred LeBlanc, Wilma Quinn (Jim), Bernard LeBlanc (Carmone), Iva Fowler, Paul LeBlanc (Cheryl) and Perry LeBlanc.
