He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilton Nelson and Moira Nelson (Chadwick); and his grandparents, Aubrey, Violet Nelson, Ernest and Bessie Chadwick.

He is survived by: his wife Betty; his sons, John (Trena) of Halifax and Ryan (Sandra) of Amherst; his grandsons, Declan and Quinn; his brother Peter Nelson (Bernice) of Truro; his nieces and nephews, Meghan, Daniel and Holly; his sister Jennifer Dedam (Harold) of Miramichi, NB; his nieces and nephews, David, Moira, Jason and Charlene; and his siblings-in-law, Art Sauveur (Gloria) of Amherst, Bernie Sauveur (Yvonne) of Amherst, Duck Sauveur (Pam) of Amherst, Rose Doucette (Rick) and Pat Robinson (Ron).

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, Jim's celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Jim's memory may be made to the LA Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
