He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Dobson and Blanche Dobson (Pettigrew); his wife Vernita "Sue" Wells; his daughter Nancy Dobson; his siblings, Olive Arseneau (Donald), Ruth Arenburg (Clarence), Albert, Russell and Vaughn; and his sister-in-law Christine Dobson.

He is survived by: his daughter Jacqueline Dobson (Paul); his grandchildren, Stephanie Dobson (Malcolm), Aaron Dobson (Kayla), Kathleen Dobson and Melissa MacAusland (Jamie); his great grandchildren, Jack Dobson and Brody MacAusland; his siblings, Hazel Arenburg, Joyce Maloney, Shirley Michels, Peggy MacKenzie, Gordie (Dorothy), Kenny, Ronnie (Eva) and Arnold (Bev); his sisters-in-law, Gini Dobson and Linda Dobson; and his close friend Patricia Mills. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
