He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Atkinson and Bertha Atkinson (Ross); his sister Evelyn Shepard; and his grandson Jeremy Atkinson. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Jean Atkinson (Clarke); his sons, John Atkinson (Sherry) of Amherst and James Atkinson (Nicole) of Amherst; his grandchildren, Rebecca Atkinson (Josh), Jeffrey Atkinson (Natalie), Erin Atkinson and Emily Atkinson; and his great grandchild Sylvie Atkinson. He is also survived by children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Cumberland Hospice and Palliative Care Society, the Fort Lawrence Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
