He was predeceased by: his parent Charles Baird (Stan); his wife Helen Baird (Rhindress); his siblings, Clara Harris (Doug), Evelyn, Charles Baird (Darlene) and Duncan; and his daughter Catherine Ripley (Baird).

He is survived by: his parent Ursula Baird (Morris); his daughters, Lindy Baird (Dave Ripley), Nancy Calder (Hugh) and Stephen Baird (Diane); his sister Violet Whitford (Jim) of Malagash, NS; his son-in-law Frank Ripley (Christine); his grandchildren, Blaine Carter (Josh) of Amherst, NS, Jennifer LeBlanc (Lance) of Amherst, NS, Royleen Ripley of Amherst, NS and Shelly Barker (Richard); and his great grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Kennedy, Kolby, Grace and Kai. He is also survived by friends and family and spending time with his beloved feline companions.
