Glendon L. Mattinson Obituary
Mattinson, Glendon Lamont - 93, Amherst, passed away at home with his wife and daughter by his side on Monday, October, 9, 2017. Born in Oxford, he was a son of the late James and Dolly (Miller) Mattinson. He is survived by his wife, the former Ileen Spence; children, Shirley (Eli) Lewis, Kitchener, ON; Edie (Dave) Bond, Cannington, ON: Sarrie Mattinson, Amherst; Glennie (Denise), Oxford; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sister, Ella Mae (Gary) Murray, Brechin, ON; many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brothers, Robert, Lawson, Louis, Guy, Dewey, Donald, and Sig; sisters, Kathleen, Lavona, and Jeannie in infancy; Son Larry, Daughter Glenda and granddaughter, Ileen. A special thanks to our extended family, residents of Fort Cumberland Manor, Andrew Martin and special friend Hermie McKeigan. A warm thank you to Dr. Short, VON home support, palliative care nurses, VON nurses, continuing care, occupational therapist Laurie Mitchell, Pastor Evan Oxner and Pastor Phil Jones of Amherst Wesleyan Church, for their continuing care and support.
A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017 in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid"s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Oxford (902-447-2930).
