Douglas James Matthews Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas James Matthews of Amherst, Nova Scotia, who passed away on September 24, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Matthews and Lillian Matthews (Read); his wife Joyce (Richard); and his siblings, Lloyd, Frank and Sylvia McCurdy.

He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Matthews-Ripley (Glen) of Amherst and Janice Matthews (Stewart Bauld) of Halifax; his grandchildren, Ryan and Krysta; his great grandchild Osborne; his siblings, Phillip (Carolyn), Russell (Barbara) and Patricia Lund; and his nephew Jamie Matthews (Cindy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
