He is survived by: his wife Daphine (Akey); his daughter Sheila McWhirter of Dartmouth, NS; his granddaughter Donna; his great grandchild Saniyah; his stepchildren, Phyllis Baker (Lee) of Edmonton, AB, Betty Melanson (Michael) of Riverview, NB, Randy Akey of Yellowknife, NT, Robert Dowe (Grace) of Amherst and Gordon Dowe of Amherst; his siblings, Sylvia, Wanda, David, Cheryl, Harvie (Harriet) of Crows Mills, NS, Gerry Helm (Gordon), Sheila Foster of Medicine Hat, AB and Connie Mosher (Leonard) of Handwell, NB; and his pet Roscoe. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
