He was predeceased by: his parents, Emile Melanson and Dorilla Melanson (Dot); his brother Emile Jr.; and his brother-in-law Leslie Lohr. He is survived by: his siblings, Diane Bangerter (Kenneth) of Freelton, ON, Shirley LeBlanc (Gregory) of Amherst, NS, Debbie Lohr of Victoria, BC, Charlene Burden (David) of Bright's Grove, ON, Monique White (Donald) of Lower Sackville, NS and Stephen (Elaine) of Lower Sackville, NS.; his nieces and nephews, Jason (Stacey), Tim (Tatyana), Joel (Angela), Derek (Michelle), Christina, Christa, Kimberlea (Jean Denis), Thea (Bryan), Jeff (Chelsea), Tracy (Kevin), Aaron (Aleshia), Nicholas, Matthew, Emily, Alicia (Marty), Joey (Robin), Julie (Russell), David (Kristin), Mason, Olivia and Hunter; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Darina, Evan, Sebastian, Christian, Arianne, Chloe, Megan, Taylor, Dylan, Jared, Alice, Freya, Gray, Emersyn, Noah, Ethan, Ahmi, Elizabeth and Kelso; his aunt Viola Corbett of Amherst, NS; and his close friend Mary Ann Belliveau.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 28th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jones Family Funeral Centre (70 Church St, Amherst, NS B4H3B2). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (63 Church St, Amherst, NS B4H3B1).
