She was predeceased by: her husband Roland; her daughter Joyce; her parents, Lot Leyte and Sarah Jane Leyte; and her siblings, Cyril, Dennis, Ivy, Frances, Louise and Valentine.

She is survived by: her children, Calvin (Heather), Bruce (Nicole), Boyce, Jeffrey, Marie, Elizabeth, Josephine (Amedee) and Maxine; her siblings, Alice (Gordon), Geraldine (Wade), Albert (Doreen), Eli (Velma) and Earnest (Rosalyn); and her grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, April and Xavier.

In keeping with Bessie's wishes cremation has taken place .Donations in Bessie's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
